Princess Mononoke

When I was a kid I didnt really know about good anime movies, I was watching stuff like DBZ and tenchi muyo but my dad rented Princess Mononoke and I watched it. I was blown away, the sheer awesomeness of the high quality animation and epic story of nature vs human industrialization. I have watched all Ghibli films and still consider Princess Mononoke Miyazakis masterpiece. I wanted to be apart of paying homage to Miyazaki whose film changed my perception of anime and its arts.

The scene I wanted to represent is a what if scenario, a tender moment when Ashitaka gives the cub wolf a necklace or crystal dagger to deliver to Mononoke as a sign of his affection. Staring at the necklace or shard Mononoke ponders at the thought what if she decided to live out her life as a normal human being together with Ashitaka. Would she be happier with him or carry on with the burden as protector of the forest. References were used for the wolf and the girl and background but I heavily altered the girl because I had to change the hair and added accessories which means painting and changing the clothes, earing etc.
